2024 State-Facilitated Retirement Savings Program Network (SRSPN) Annual Conference

On January 30-31, 2024, the CRI hosted its annual invitation-only State Facilitated Retirement Savings Program Network (SRSPN) Annual Conference at the Newman Alumni Center at the University of Miami, in Coral Gables, Florida. The annual Distinguished State Leader Award was presented to Colleen Davis, State Treasurer, Delaware.

2023 State-Facilitated Retirement Savings Program Network (SRSPN) Annual Conference

On January 23-24, 2023, the CRI hosted its annual invitation-only State-Facilitated Retirement Savings Program Network (SRSPN) Annual Conference at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), Luskin Conference Center, in Los Angeles, California. The annual Distinguished State Leader Award was presented to Tobias Read, Oregon State Treasurer.

2022 State-Facilitated Retirement Savings Program Network (SRSPN) Annual Conference

On March 15-16, 2022, the CRI hosted its annual invitation-only State-Facilitated Retirement Savings Program Network (SRSPN) Annual Conference. This year’s return to an in-person meeting was scheduled to begin after the conclusion of the National Association of State Treasurers’ (NAST) Legislative Conference in Washington, DC. The annual Distinguished State Leader Award was presented to Kevin Lembo, State Comptroller, Connecticut.

2021 State-Facilitated Retirement Savings Program Network (SRSPN) Annual Conference

On February 17 and 18, 2021, the CRI hosted its annual invitation-only 2021 State-Facilitated Retirement Savings Program Network (SRSPN) Annual Conference. During this two-day virtual conference, the Georgetown University Center for Retirement Initiatives (CRI) released state-level analysis of the benefits of expanding worker access to save for retirement by adopting state-facilitated auto-IRA programs. This was completed in conjunction with Econsult Solutions, Inc., and funded by a generous grant from the Berggruen Institute. The annual Distinguished State Leader Award was presented to Dave Young, Colorado State Treasurer.

2020 State-Facilitated Retirement Savings Program Network (SRSPN) Annual Conference

On January 22-23, 2020, the CRI hosted its annual invitation-only State-Facilitated Retirement Savings Program Network (SRSPN) Annual Conference at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. Topics discussed included best practices in program management and governance; myths and realities of program budgets and costs; the role of multi-state collaborations; considerations in investment decision-making; best practices in the program design and drafting legislation; and the opportunities state programs create for the private sector. The annual Distinguished State Leader Award was presented to Michael Frerichs, Illinois State Treasurer.

2018 CRI New England Regional Retirement Symposium

On December 11, 2018, the CRI hosted an invitation-only event at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island for state executives, legislators, and other key state stakeholders to explore opportunities for multi-state collaborative efforts to expand access to retirement savings programs for private sector workers. Other topics discussed federal prospects for retirement reforms; the opportunities and challenges of implementing a state-facilitated retirement savings program; effective marketing and outreach strategies; and ABLE and 529 lessons for multi-state collaboration among state retirement programs.
